I wanted to let our visitors know that I’m working behind the scenes on converting the site completely to Wordpress. While I don’t antecipate, there being any issues, there could be moments where links don’t work properly or page look a little off. I want to keep the site open while I’m doing this, so bear with us. It will all be worth since this convertion is in preparation for a brand new theme which should be debuting sometime in the next few days.

The gallery is being updated, also, with brand new pictures. It’s not being posted at the main page because I am still reorganizing the whole gallery. Don’t worry, Gael Fan will be back soon.

Gael Garcia Bernal’s representative has dismissed reports Bernal has split from his girlfriend amid rumors he is not the father of her child.

The Motorcycle Diaries star welcomed baby boy Lazaro with Argentinian actress Dolores Fonzi in 2009.

Online reports recently surfaced suggesting Bernal had ended their longterm relationship after learning he may not be Lazaro’s biological dad, but Bernal’s spokesperson has denied the reports to People.com and a source close to the star insists the rumors are false.

The insider says, “It’s completely untrue. (They) are happy together and they love their son. This is totally made up.”

Hello everyone, my name is Luciana and I am the new owner of Gael Fan! I am so excited to be the new owner of this great website. You may know me from other websites, as www.sbullock.net and www.zach-quinto.com, and I used to run a site dedicated to Gael some years ago.

The site will be going under maintenance for the next days, there’s a few things I want to change in our gallery and also in the main site, but I promise the things will be finished soon. Our main domain will also be changed to gelfan.com, but the older one will be working for, at least, a year.

If you have any question, please, email me at webmaster@gaelfan.net.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the long time in not posting. There were issues with the web-host again. Something about new software, getting hacked, and my forum not working. I think it’s all working again okay???

I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be able to run this site. I’m just too busy. I know… I’m bummed about it, too. But I’d like to pass this site on to someone else rather than just let it cease to be updated.

Is there anyone who would like to take this website over? You need to have some knowledge of Wordpress and Coppermine. If you’re interested, email me at: webmaster@gaelfan.net

Here is a nice long article/interview where Gael talks about swine flu, Tough & Corny and everything in between.

Telegraph.co.uk ~ July 8, 2009

In late April, Gael Garcia Bernal was all set to fly to New York for the Tribeca Film Festival, where his latest movie Rudo & Cursi was to get its US premiere, but the outbreak of swine flu meant that he, like everyone else in a metastasising Mexico City, was fearfully holed up at home. ‘At first, it was terrifying, man,’ the actor recalls. ‘I don’t understand epidemics, who does? Paranoia and panic spread through the city incredibly fast. I was just watching news reports of all these people dying and not having any idea when this thing outside my door would end.’

Garcia Bernal ultimately did make it to Tribeca, but for an actor who’s consistently spurned the advances of Hollywood to make movies in Mexico, it seems entirely yet tragically apt that he should spend the darkest days of swine flu among his countrymen. The gringos could wait.

Ever since bursting on to the scene in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s gritty urban drama Amores Perros in 2001, Garcia Bernal has carved out a reputation as one of the mildest-mannered guys in film. Except, that is, where politics is concerned. Aged 16, he joined marches and demonstrations supporting the rebellion of the Zapatista Indians in Chiapas. Aged 24, more famously, when presenting an award at the 2003 Oscars, he ignored the autocue and gave the night’s first denunciation of the Iraq War.
