Quotes from "El Pasado" Press Conference in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) - October 22, 2007

About working with Brazilian directors: "I liked much of the experience of working with Brazilian directors such as Walter Salles (Diarios de Motocicleta), Hector Babenco (El Pasado) and Fernando Meirelles (Blindness). Each of them has a different personality, different point of views, but the essence is the same. This is the magic of cinema. I really want to work with a Brazilian director here in Brazil.

The experience of directing for the first time in Deficit: "When I was doing the movie, I felt that it was something to "big, great people". To accept this term, "director", still costs me a little. Actually, I do not want to have a career as a director. I feel very proud to be an actor. So this side of me, the director’s side, is not something I want to invest in right now. To direct a movie, I need to have a very organic need. Moreover, as a director it doesn’t allow you to live many lives as it does as an actor. But, yes, I have an idea about a next project to direct. But I prefer not talking about anything yet. "

About any proposal to play an evil character, far from the characters he’s done before: "No, no one has offered me this kind of part. But I still hope to get an invitation, it could be great. Now, if I didn’t get any proposal soon, I will do something very bad so everyone will see me as a villain. Someday I will do something prohibit by the law! Beware! Beware! (Laughters)."
